Maybe it's just me (it's probably just me), but it seems like there are many more women making solo indie electro-pop in Japan than in other countries. Anyway, Hazel Nuts Chocolate is indeed the work of a single woman (as far as I can tell) who goes by the name of Yuppa. She's released two albums, and a new single was released this year. Yuppa's music is very pop oriented, staying away from blippy experimental sounds and instead focusing on solid, upbeat, childlike dance tracks. Many of the songs feature a full band sound, which makes me wonder if she's really just a solo artist or if she has something else hiding up her sleeve.
