Pop Chocolat

Pop Chocolate

"Pop Chocolat is girlie band." Well, fair enough. They are indeed a duo featuring two women. With super cute and innocent sounding vocals over the top of sometimes shaky, sometimes powerful indie pop rock, Pop Chocolat is a young band with a surprisingly powerful punch. They are obviously still feeling out their territory, learning the ropes, but at the same time it's this lack of experience that makes them all the more interesting to listen to. With no frills and no pretensions, they are simply a fun rock band rocking out because they love to do it.

Great to see Pop Chocolat here. I don't think I'd call them one of my all-time favorite bands but "Rhythm" is one of the most satisfying overall listening experiences I've gotten from an album in a very, very long time. Also great to see that video, I hadn't before!

Was sad that you didn't have any entries for Swinging Popsicle, Waffles, or Spangle Call Lilli Line. Those are probably my favorites by far.

Thanks for the tips DaiKamonohashi! I'm always happy to find out more. I know a bit about Swinging Popsicle, but the other two are new to me. I'll get on it!

All three are very mellow. Actually, in that order of increasing mellowness, with SCLL being the most. Heh.

I actually got to see waffles in concert last June when I was visiting Japan and Kyoko really blew me away with the amount emotion she sings with. They were pretty stunned, too, to see someone who'd come all the way from Georgia to see them play! XD
