Mean Machine was a super-group experiment. Take five women successful in their various fields (actress Ayumi Ito, DJ Mayumi Chiwaki, musician Yukarie, Yuki from Judy & Mary and Chara) and make them play an unfamiliar instrument. The results are about as good as you might expect. Their sound is pretty loose and jangly, with some noisy, bluesy rock and some playful, psychedelic sounds. The success of the experiment is up to the listener, but one must admit that there's something unique to be found in this machine.
